What’s a Street Food Festival like in Zurich? // Com’e’ uno Street Food Festival a Zurigo?

Sometimes when you live abroad, really far away, everything there seems to be absolutely amazing and it is, but that absolutely amazing thing, event or whatever, that seems so unique, may also exists back home or somewhere else in the world. That’s what exactly happened with the Zurich Street Food Festival, apparently something increasing in popularity that attracts a lot of people and that this year will have happened at least 3 times!

We almost missed it because it rained for an hour or so just before going, but luckily we didn’t!

Big but not too much, fancy but not too much, appealing, very well organised, with a great positive vibe and with actually a lot of Food cuisine to choose from, this was the Zurich Street Festival on Saturday night, which actually lasts for four days from the Thursday to the Sunday and that seems to be coming back in November (19-30.11.2015) I guess in a Xmas version maybe. So watch out for the dates.

Already missing Asian food from living in Australia, we shared:

  • amazing Tibetan and I guess Chinese dumplings IMG_4714
  • a great burger from an online butcher shop

  • a glass of Swiss wine, not bad
  • and just to stay almost local, Kaiserschmarrn from Wien, a dessert made of apples, dow, sugar glass and apricots, a favourite of the Austrian emperor, where the name comes from. Yummy!

There was a lot more to choose from but we were full and sometimes queues or a little bit to wait because the food was already gone! From Afghan cuisine to Mexican to Japanese, Italian, Vietnamese, Palestinian, American, Dutch, good coffee, cocktails, craft beer and much more. And all in a beautiful scenario such as the Zurich lakeside! And I would say a lot better and bigger than any other Street Food Festival I’ve been to before.

I really encourage you to go the next time!
